James Suckling in Chile

James Suckling, one of the most prestigious and influential wine critics in the world, visited and tasted our wines on his last trip to Chile, and had nothing but praise for all the hard work and progress made in our country. He is a former editor of Wine Spectator, a magazine for which he tasted and reviewed 4000 wines a year for 30 years. In May he visited several vineyards and conversed with their respective oenologists tasting close to 600 wines in a single week. Today his own web site singled out our vineyard giving us excellent scores – 91 points for Loma Larga Cabernet Franc 2010: “A balanced fruity wine with hints of blackberry, cedar, black olives and a fruity berry like character. Good body, round tannins and a fruity aftertaste. It needs a year or two to soften but it’s a worthy interpretation of the Cabernet Franc” – 91 points for Lomas del Valle Malbec 2013: “Very earthy and well spiced, with a hint of cold meats. Good body, soft and round tannins and a tasty finish, a dedicated wine and ready to drink now” – 92 points for Lomas del Valle Pinot Noir 2014: “Pure Pinot Noir character, with dried strawberries and raspberries with a nuance of citrus. Has a good body dominated by fruity flavors and hints of lemon and minerals, ready to drink now”.
